The Tool Tower
You will find lots of Tool Towers on Pinterest. I modeled mine after those I saw there. The purpose of a Tool Tower is to keep the tools you use frequently always close at hand instead of marching all over your shop searching in drawers, boxes, or on the wall trying to find what you need. ALSO, whenever I lay a tool down, I then spend the rest of the day trying to find it again. This way it is always on the tool tower either in its designated place or on the temporary shelf (explained below).
I did something that I did not see in any of the other Tool Towers. Some take their mechanics tools - sockets, wrenches, and ratchets - and mount them out of the cases they came in onto the sides or fronts of their
Tool Towers. But I mounted my DeWalt tool case with my mechanics tools directly onto the tool tower itself. I like to keep my tools high because bending over is painful. I cover the DeWalt mechanics tools so that saw dust does not get into the case and so that I have a shelf where I can lay a tool temporarily. If I ever have to take my mechanics tools with me, then I just close the case while it is on the tower and slide it off and into the truck. When I am finished, it slides back on the tower and reopens with everything easily available again.
